Handcrafted Hi-Fi Tube Amplifiers

Small-batch Hi-Fi. Limited production runs. Individually tailored.

About the Builder

My work with amplifiers began at 15, when I started repairing guitar and bass amplifiers. By 18–19, I had moved into designing and building amplifiers of my own, eventually focusing entirely on Hi-Fi.
Today, I am a University of Alberta physics student and the founder of Pupin Mfg., developing handcrafted vacuum-tube amplifiers into limited small-batch production runs.
Each design is produced in a deliberately small quantity before moving on to the next. The goal is to combine the character of a handcrafted amplifier with the consistency of repeatable production — all while allowing customers to order and tailor their amplifier remotely.

The 10-Unit Series

Each amplifier begins with a design. A production run consists of just 10 amplifiers built around that design. Each series is defined by its own circuit layout, tube complement, and intended sonic character. Once the tenth amplifier is completed, that design is retired and a new one begins. The result is a collection of small, limited production runs rather than a single mass-produced model. Tailored to the Listener While the underlying amplifier design remains consistent throughout a production run, each amplifier can still be tailored to its owner. Depending on the design, customers may be able to select or arrange details such as:
- Eye tube or no eye tube
- Wood species and stain
- Chassis colour and finish
- Other visual and cosmetic details
The goal is simple: the amplifier remains part of a defined series, while still feeling like yours.

WHERE YOUR SUPPORT GOES

The first production runs require an upfront investment in the components and equipment needed to build them.
Your support helps me purchase the expensive, long-lead, and difficult-to-stock components that make small-batch production possible—things that are considerably easier to purchase in quantity once the initial capital is available.
Your support helps fund:
- Vacuum Tubes
Output tubes, rectifiers, preamp tubes, and other tube stock needed for production.
- Transformers
Power and output transformers are among the largest individual costs in a tube amplifier.
- Chassis & Production Materials
The materials required to turn a circuit into a finished amplifier.
The goal is to build up enough inventory and production capacity to make the first limited run economically viable.
